Why we made ChatDesk open source
We'll be honest with you. We built ChatDesk to sell it. We spent months on the inbox, the campaigns and the chatbots, and we were proud of the result.
But the closer we got, the more one thought kept coming back. Talking to customers on WhatsApp is not a luxury feature anymore. It is how small shops, clinics, schools and start-ups run their day. A tool that sits in the middle of those conversations should be something you can see inside, run yourself and truly own.
So we decided to give it away. The whole thing, on GitHub, for anyone to use.
Now any business or developer can run a transparent, self-hosted WhatsApp inbox with no lock-in and no markup on every message. You pay Meta's own prices and nothing more. And every fix, idea and pull request from the community makes ChatDesk better for everyone who uses it.
Transparent
Every line is open. Read it, audit it and know exactly what happens to your customers' messages.
Yours to own
Your server, your database, your Meta app. No vendor can switch you off or raise your price.
Better together
Built in the open so developers everywhere can improve it, translate it and extend it.
